Hero MotoCorp felicitated ASHA workers in Gurgaon by handing over 52 units of Hero Pleasure scooter on the occasion of International Women’s Day. As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform “Hero WeCare'', this initiative was aimed at empowerment of Asha Workers who are at the forefront of tackling the coronavirus pandemic. Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Haryana, and Mr. Bharatendu Kabi, Head Corporate Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility, Hero MotoCorp, handed over these 52 Hero scooters to the ASHA Workers.
Mr. Bharatendu Kabi, Head - Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Corporate Communication, said, “Hero MotoCorp has been at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 by partnering with hospitals and local administrations across the country. We salute the contribution of ASHA Workers as they have played a key role in the prevention and management of the COVID-19. Our ASHA workers have been torchbearers in this fight and it is only fitting that we thank them on the occasion of the International Women’s Day for their relentless and heroic efforts in protecting the vulnerable sections of the society.”
Appreciating this initiative of Hero MotoCorp, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Haryana, said, “The ASHA workers have led from the front in the fight against COVID-19, especially in remote towns and villages, and have been in constant touch with the local community. They played a key role in screening people across the state by conducting door-to-door surveys to seek out people suffering from any symptom of the disease. Hero MotoCorp’s efforts in rewarding these COVID warriors is truly commendable and will motivate more corporates to recognise such dedication to the people and the society.”
